About Me

Hi, I'm Susanna! Welcome to my blog.

Writing, once a possible career choice, has been sidelined as a hobby, as I stay at home with my three little girls and toddler boy. I dabble in theology and philosophy from time to time since I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a BA in Philosophy and Theology and a MA in Theology before I was married in 2008.

My husband, "M" or "the professor", teaches and writes in philosophy as a professor at a university in St. Paul, MN. I started this blog while he was in graduate school in Buffalo, NY and I was trying to continue a thinking life beyond being a mother.

Our children are:
  •  "G", a talkative and imaginative eight year old girl
  • "L", a perceptive and creative six year old girl
  • "F",  a cheerful, curious four year old girl
  • "T", a sweet, happy almost two year old boy.
As a St. Louis native, you can read about my St. Louis roots and baseball fanaticism, but also about being raised Catholic and raising my own children Catholic. I love beautiful liturgies, cooking delicious meals, baking amazing sweets, reading good books, raising my children, talking to my husband, and writing all about it. I am trying to love home schooling.

  1. Hi Susanna! I stumbled upon your blog while researching veils (don't really remember how though), and I just have to tell you how much hope reading your story gives me! My mom has always been a housewife and sometimes it makes me desperate seeing how that's becoming a rarer and rarer job; especially because I know what it feels like to have a dedicated stay at home mom, and how much I'd miss that if I was denied a real home and a loving mother (like so many children are nowadays). I just want you to know that I have immense respect for you and the job you do; there is absolutely nothing more important, your dedication to your family makes you worthier than any president, star, or any of the people who are praised by the foolish media. You walk the steps of Holy Mary herself, and no king or millionaire has ever been (or even will be) more important that Our Lady; what you do makes you absolutely irreplaceable, and improves beyond measure the life of everyone around you! Thank you for giving me hope that godly families still exist even in such a troubled age, and God bless you!

*I'm not sure if the names for Mary Mother of God are right because my native language is Portuguese, I hope it's a good enough translation
*Sorry for bothering you with this, it just made me very happy to read your description and I thought you'd appreciate knowing it!
